The bond of love that binds the members of the Holy Family is a union of hearts which comes about through the marriage of Mary & Joseph. Whatever shape or size or configuration your family is, may you know all the blessings, joys and graces of being "family" in today's world. SOLEMNITY OF MARY, MOTHER OF GOD - FRIDAY, JANUARY 1 - It is befitting that we celebrate this feast day in honour of Mary as well as World Day of Peace. We name Mary, "Queen of Peace" and God has given us Mary, the protector of unwed mothers, couples who bear children in poverty, who are displaced by political rivalries, war and violence, or are driven into exile by terror and economic desperation. He gave us Mary, the model of leadership in family and community, alert to the problems of difficult marriages, and He gave us Mary who was obedient to Him leaving us the message to follows His commandments and promising us eternal life. This is the Mary, Mother of God, whom He gave to all of us.
