DEVELOPMENT & PEACE, FALL CAMPAIGN “Working Our Land, Fighting For Our Rights.” This Fall we are beginning the first of 2 years on land issues, a natural progression from our 2 years on mining. We consulted with D & P partners in the Global South & determined that the land issue that most concerns them is food sovereignty, basically the right of people to healthy food & the right to define their own food & agricultural systems. If realized, food sovereignty would provide for genuine food security & equitable trade, with the priority given to local markets, producers & consumers. We’ll show how mining threatens people’s food sovereignty & make mining the focus of our Fall Post Card Campaign. Fall Action: Post Card Signing Nov. 29/30 ST.
