ST VINCENT DE PAUL 2008 ANNUAL REPORT: Another active year for our 25 volunteer parishioners who meet our needy neighbours to offer support in the form of advice, food, clothing or simply an attentive ear. We helped 2500 individuals in 2008 & as you can see from the financial report, assistance topped $40,000 in the St Anne’s district alone. It would not be possible without your generosity. Special mention should be made of the extraordinary lift St Anne’s Knights gave us at the time of the Herbert Street fire. Because of your help we donated bikes to 7 kids who took part in the Kids of Steel Triathlon & delivered Christmas gifts to over 200 children. Finally, we gave Gift Cards valued at $300 to each of the victims of the tragic fire in December. Please consider becoming a Vincentian because, as Mother Teresa said “the poor, we will always have.” Opening Balance $ 1,907.18 Income - Collections $25,093.00 - Particular Council 14,800.00 - Knights of Columbus 1,500.00 - Black Bag Collections 1,005.00 - Bank Interest 19.27 Total Income $42,417.27 Expenses - Food Vouchers $40,959.80 - Bus ticket for client 52.82 - Office & Admin 448.51 - Twinning 1,000.00 Total Expenses $42,461.13 Closing Balance: $1,863.32 PRAYERS FOR DIOCESAN COMMUNITY: Today we pray for people & clergy of St Joseph Church, Douro, that as members of the Church, they may continue to grow in faith & holiness in all they say & do.
