PILGRIMAGE TO MARTYRS SHRINE: Pilgrimages are a Catholic tradition. Bishop DeAngelis has asked the pastors to organize a yearly trip to the Shrine on a deanery level & the city deanery has booked Sunday, September 27 with Mass at 1:30 p.m. in the Shrine. There will be free time to enjoy a picnic lunch, pray the Stations of the Cross outside, or walk about the grounds. The cost of the seats will be determined by the number of people attending and donations from the various Church groups. More info will be forthcoming. Come and Enjoy! ST ANNE’S WOMEN’S GROUP: MASS & BRUNCH – SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 20: Current members are invited to attend the 11:00 a.m. Mass followed by brunch at Chemong Lodge. Cost of the brunch is approximately $20 per person. Tickets will be on sale in early September and we are limited to a maximum of 55 women. Watch the bulletin for more information. SEPTEMBER IS MEMBERSHIP MONTH: The Cost to join St. Anne’s Women’s Group is still only $10. Our membership has gown to over 160 women who have fun with pot luck suppers, bus trips, shopping etc. & we continually help out financially to charities within the community. So if you haven’t been a member in the past, for $10 you will be putting your money to a good cause & getting enjoyment out of participating in our activities. You will find a blue envelope in your donation box. It is located under the September date but shows January 4, 2009. This is the envelope you should use. Membership date was changed from January to September but envelopes are ordered a year in advance. Call Denise McNeil 748-5339 for more info DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO EUROPE – JULY 17TH TO 30TH, 2010: A Diocesan Pilgrimage to Germany, Switzerland and France is being organized for June 17 to 30 in 2010. The main feature of the trip is the famous Oberammergau Passion Play in Germany & other sites include the Shrines of St John Vianney, Our Lady of LaSalette and Our Lady of Einsiedeln, among others. The trip costs $3,695 with a deposit of $1,000 required now & the balance by April 15/10. (This includes lodging in hotels & pilgrimage houses). SONFEST 2009 was a wonderful success, due to the overwhelming number of prayers and the hard work of the many volunteers.
