ROSARY APOSTOLATE PROGRAM at St Anne’s School is in need of volunteers to visit ½ day per month from Oct to May to lead the students in praying the Rosary. All supplies and training will be provided. On Mon. Oct 12, mass is at 9:00 am & the office will be closed for the holiday. THE FLU SEASON IS COMING & we are getting prepared. We have ordered cleansing dispensers for the doors of the Church which should be here shortly. The Diocese has recommended (for the interim) the following: 1. Parishioners are advised to refrain from shaking hands during the sign of peace & simple bow or say “Peace be with you” to fellow parishioners 2. Extraordinary ministers should receive communion only in the hand, not the cup 3. Communion should be distributed only in the hand 4. Communion should not be distributed from the cup. 5. Parishioners experiencing fever, worsening cough, chills & fatigue should refrain from attending Mass 6. Parishioners should use the hand sanitizers which will be available at all entrances of the Church. AID SENT TO MANILA - The Peterborough Diocese will be donating $15,000 to the Manila Relief effort. This money will be taken from the 10% that is retained from the Special Collections. Thank you for your generosity to these collections. RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS began Oct 7 with an Overview of the Program. The next session is Wednesday, Oct 14 at 7:00 p.m. the topic will be “Tradition + The Holy Spirit”. ST VINCENT DE PAUL wish to thank everyone for the abundance of groceries donated last weekend for our Thanksgiving Food Drive. DEVELOPMENT & PEACE – All Day Social Justice Retreat & Workshop, led by Fr. Michael Cote on Sat. Oct. 17 in St Anne’s Hall. Fr. Cote entered the Dominican Friars in 1961 & obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy with a Master’s degree in theology at the Dominican Faculty of Studies in Ottawa. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1969. He has facilitated retreats for D & P for over 20 years & is a member of D & P National Theology Committee which produced the theological reflection pieces on the 6 principles guiding the current D & P campaign (see display at front entrance).
