EXPLANATION OF THE PARTS OF THE EUCHARISTIC CELEBRATION A weekly continuation for your information LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST The Lord’s Prayer: The Our Father is the prayer Jesus gave to all followers. This is the one prayer that all should participate in, be it said or sung. In the Lord’s Prayer, we pray for our daily bread, but in a special way, this prayer helps us to focus on our spiritual bread, the Body of Christ. We pray for the ability to forgive one another and we ask for the grace to be delivered from temptation. The danger is in knowing the prayer so well, we merely say the words by rote and fail to think of the words and what they mean.
