JESUS AS A ROLE MODEL IN SOCIETY: “What characterizes the life of Jesus of Nazareth is a radical reversal of the values of the world. Jesus articulated His values in a series of phrases which Christians know as “The Beatitudes.” “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Once again Jesus reverses the values of the world & declares blessed “those who mourn.” He means those who are not happy with the world the way it is & who long for a better world which would come with what He called “the kingdom of heaven.” REST IN PEACE: St Anne’s parish family would like to extend our prayers & sympathy to the family of: Evelyn Minicola – Mother of Peter & Angela Minicola May She Rest In Peace LILIES: Keep them in a sunny window & only water when the soil is dry. Kindly return them to the Church by Palm Sunday, April 5 so they can be shared with our community HAPPY ANNIVERSARY: Our Parish family would like to extend best wishes to the following couple who are celebrating their wedding anniversary: Rosemary & Claire Harrington 3/20/98. May God continue to bless your marriage with love & happiness. EXPLANATION OF THE PARTS OF THE EUCHARISTIC CELEBRATION A weekly continuation for your information LITURGY OF THE WORD Gospel: A special literary style was created to chronicle the life of Jesus on Earth. This literary style was given the name Gospel which translates as “Good News.” There are only four Gospels – Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. If possible, a book of the Gospels comes in procession at the beginning of the Mass. This book is enthroned on the Altar. While the Gospel Acclamation is being sung, the two Acolytes lead the book of the Gospel to the lectern. This highlights the fact that the Gospel is special. Out of reverence for the life of Jesus, we stand for the Gospel. We make the sign of the cross on our forehead, lips and heart as a prayer asking that the Good News touch our mind, that we speak the Good News and that we love and live out the call.
