What an incredible gift God has given us! These priests touch the peaks & valleys of our lives from birth unto death. In a society that becomes more secular with each day, in a world torn apart by hatred & violence, our priests are steadfast in their love & service to us. In their retirement they rely on our generosity to the annual Priests’ Benefit Fund Collection. HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! EXPLANATION OF THE PARTS OF THE EUCHARISTIC CELEBRATION A weekly continuation for your information LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST Lamb of God: At this point, the host and chalice are raised again. The priest proclaims the following: “This is the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Happy are those who are called to this supper.” This prayer highlights how blessed we are to have the gift of the Eucharist, that God loves us and forgives us. We should be filled with joy. The congregation responds by proclaiming: “Lord I am not worthy to receive you, only say the word and I shall be healed.” These poetic words are a statement of faith and at the same time a petition to Jesus that we become healed of all that keeps us distanced from God and become more like Jesus, the people He wants us to be, individually and communally. At present we have a Children’s Liturgy at the 9:00 a.m. mass for little ones who have not yet celebrated First Eucharist. They go down stairs in the Hall with the adult volunteer who leads them in an activity/story/craft related to the theme of the liturgy. They return to the mass at the offertory. We are considering adding a Children’s Liturgy at the 11:00 Mass. Would you like to volunteer? The goal is to have at least 8 adult volunteers - 2 to lead each weekend & that way you would be on once a month. Call Father Bill or the office if you can help – 745-3229 CONGRATULATIONS GRADUATES of St. Anne’s & St. Paul’s School and to all the teachers & mentors who can be very proud of their accomplishments.
