These priests touch the peaks and the valleys of our lives, from birth unto death. In a society that becomes more secular with each passing day, in a world torn apart by hatred and violence, our priests are steadfast in their love and service to us. The special envelope in your offertory sets provide an opportunity to respond in charity and gratitude for God’s gift to us, by caring for our elderly and sometimes ailing priests. In their retirement, they rely on our generosity to the annual Priests’ Benefit Fund Collection. Thank you for your continued generosity! EXPLANATION OF THE PARTS OF THE EUCHARISTIC CELEBRATION A weekly continuation for your information LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST Breaking of the Bread (Transmingling): At the Last Supper, Jesus broke the bread before He gave it to the Apostles. For this reason, the bread is broken just prior to communion. A small portion of the host is also broken off and placed in the chalice. This illustrates that total presence of Jesus is in both the species of bread and wine. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS YARD SALE & BAZAAR SATURDAY, JUNE 20 We need your help! They go down stairs in the Hall with the adult volunteer who leads them in an activity/story/craft related to the theme of the liturgy. They return to the mass at the offertory. We are considering adding a Children’s Liturgy at the 11:00 Mass. Would you like to volunteer?
