Please call Madeline Bruce 740-2531 EXPLANATION OF THE PARTS OF THE EUCHARISTIC CELEBRATION A weekly continuation for your information LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST Sign of Peace: In sacred scripture we hear Jesus in His appearances after the Resurrection always saying, “Peace be with you.” In the early Church, Christians used to greet one another by saying “Peace be with you.” These words remind us to allow the peace of Jesus to reign in our hearts and lives. They are in many ways, a hopeful prayer that the peace of Jesus will fill our lives as individuals and as a community. In the early Church, there was an “Embrazio” that went with this greeting. An “Embrazio” is a spiritual and physical embrace or hug. Through the years it has become a handshake. However, feel free to embrace one another in the Lord at this time. ST ANNE’S WOMEN’S GROUP SECRET SISTER PROJECT: For the past few months our women’s group has taken on a new “Secret Sister” who is a single mom with 5 children. She would like to thank all of you for the birthday gifts, cards, driving book, Easter treats & turkey and a special thanks for the donation of a scientific calculator for her chemistry course as she is updating her education. Thank you ladies for your continued support and fund raising efforts to accomplish this and other projects our women’s group help with. POTLUCK DINNER – All members are invited to a Potluck Dinner on Tuesday, June 9 beginning with Mass at 5:30 and a “Toonie Bar” & dinner will follow. FAMILY CAMPING WEEKEND AT CAMP NORTHERN LIGHTS: The Camp will open its doors for the parish on the weekend of July 25-26. Everyone is welcome to come & share in swimming, canoeing, games, mass by the lake, campfire & much more. People can come for just the Saturday, but all are encouraged to spend the night for the true camping experience. Cabins available but feel free to bring your own tent. Food will be purchased ahead of time & those who participate will be asked to chip in their share of the bill. It is important to register in order to plan food quantities. Each neighbourhood celebration would consist of a Mass in the backyard at 6:00 pm followed by a Potluck BBQ for the members of the parish who live in that zone. We require a family from each zone to volunteer to host one of the 4 dates. Two families have offered to host July 17 & Aug 21 & we are looking for 2 families for July 10 & Aug. 7.
