LIFE CHAIN 2009: The Annual Life Chain event in support of the rights of the unborn is scheduled for 200 – 300 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4. PILGRIMAGE TO MARTYRS SHRINE: Pilgrimages are a Catholic tradition. Bishop DeAngelis has asked the pastors to organize a yearly trip to the Shrine on a deanery level & the city deanery has booked Sunday, September 27 with Mass at 1:30 p.m. in the Shrine. There will be free time to enjoy a picnic lunch, pray the Stations of the Cross outside, or walk about the grounds. The cost of the seats will be determined by the number of people attending and donations from the various Church groups. More info will be forthcoming. Bill 745-3229 for details. DIOCESAN FINANCE MEETING: The Annual meetings between Parish & Diocesan finance officials have been moved away from the first Sunday of October in response to many voices. Representatives from St. Anne’s Finance Council will attend the meeting on Sept 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Mercy in Port Hope and report back to the people with information they obtained. DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO EUROPE – JULY 17TH TO 30TH, 2010: A Diocesan Pilgrimage to Germany, Switzerland and France is being organized for June 17 to 30 in 2010. The main feature of the trip is the famous Oberammergau Passion Play in Germany & other sites include the Shrines of St John Vianney, Our Lady of LaSalette and Our Lady of Einsiedeln, among others. The trip costs $3,695 with a deposit of $1,000 required now & the balance by April 15/10. (This includes lodging in hotels & pilgrimage houses).
